Top 5 family movies coming out in 2013 (with trailers)

The year has hardly begun and it already looks like it will be filled with awesomeness! Let’s begin with movies. 2012 was a good year for children’s movies that grown-ups loved too, Brave and Life of Pi topping the list. It looks like 2013 will keep up the good job, as several family movies are scheduled to release this year. Here are our top 5 (in release date order), which do you think will be your favorite?

1 – Oz: The Great and Powerful

This new Disney movie tells the story of what happened before The Wizard of Oz: the cast is great, the story seems fantastic and Oz, well, there isn’t any place quite as wonderful, is there? Release date should be on March 8th.

Christmas scenes in movies are just like Christmas music – excellent comfort food for the mind.

From Miracle on the 34th Street to Home Alone, from Scrooge to Meet me in St. Louis, we selected a few of our favorite Christmas scenes and movies.

How to get into the Christmas Spirit

We know we are supposed to be “good” all year long. At the same time, we know that it’s hard. We’re stressed, overwhelmed, scared… This is why the weeks leading up to Christmas are a great time to slightly change some of our habits,and try to behave a bit differently at work, with our friends, and with our family. Top five teachers in “children” movies.

Because we are still in an excited back-to-school mood, we made a list of our favorite teachers in children movies. Which ones did we forget? Which are your favorite?

5 – George Lopez, of “Etre et Avoir.”

If you haven’t watched “Etre et Avoir” (To Be and To Have), do it now. It’s the adorable story of a small (really small, one-room small!) school in rural France, where kids between 4 and 11 are educated by one loving and dedicated teacher – he is a real person, so double respect. [read more]

That’s hardly surprising, since we are huge fan of Pixar’s work – is anyone not?

A goat, its three kids and a (cheating!) wolf. In Afghanistan’s first computer-animated movie!

“Buz-e-Chini,” (The Goat) is a 3D animated movie by Abbas Ali, a graphic designer and cartoon lover from Afghanistan who found refuge in Pakistan when the Taliban took over his country. He started working on the movie while away, and after the end of the Taliban regime went back to Afghanistan and finished the project.
